A Transformative Collaboration
New Braunfels Utilities, the City of New Braunfels, and Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority are pleased to introduce One Water New Braunfels, a transformative collaborative program to ensure the treasured local waters of New Braunfels remain celebrated, sustainable, and protected features of our community for generations.
Shared Action Areas

Plan for and manage water resources holistically and sustainably
1) Increase understanding of holistic water challenges and opportunities within agencies working within both the greater New Braunfels area; and in the upper Guadalupe watershed.
2) Increase coordination and cooperation within and between public agencies working within both the greater New Braunfels area and in the upper Guadalupe watershed.

Maximize environmental, social and economic benefits to New Braunfels
1) Prioritize projects, programs and policies that consider and balance these goals. This includes current and future programs, policies, and projects within the proposed geographic areas.
2) Identify, research, and showcase exemplary One Water projects to serve as potential solutions for consideration.

Ensure water remains a celebrated feature of our community
1) Keep water a safe, healthy and prominent natural feature of our community by providing leadership within the region on One Water best practices, increasing the number of projects including One Water elements, and engaging in conversations around green infrastructure concepts.
2) Help to build a community of water conscious citizens by engaging a diverse group of stakeholders, in One Water dialogue and project identification and by providing cohesive and collaborative water
education programming across agencies through traditional and non-traditional methods.

Provide sustainable & high-quality water for people
1) Provide a sustainable and resilient water supply for people by refining water planning processes, diversifying NBU water supply and management options, improving NBU's aging infrastructure, maximizing conservation, efficiency and fit-for-purpose water use, and monitoring availability of water resources within the broader region.
2) Ensure high quality drinking water and water quality meets the standards for its intended use by maintaining NBU's Superior Drinking Water Rating, protecting the quality of water resources (Edwards Aquifer, river basins, etc.) within the broader region.

Ensure healthy watersheds, waterways & groundwater resources
1) Generate a resource guide that provides an overview of what is being done locally to monitor, maintain and/or improve watersheds, waterways and groundwater resources .
2) Determine baseline conditions and desired future conditions for local waterways and aquifers.
3) Promote and implement One Water concepts that will aid in maintaining or improving local waterways and aquifers.
